I am a fan of College Football and watch a few games every weekend during the season. I know it is late but....

Anyone interested in a thread for NCAAF?

If done right it can start and remain civil.

OK, I'll go.

Never been much of a Longhorn fan but it is good to see Mack Brown fight the wrath.

Many great games tomorrow and Saturday, these are the young people that fuel the NFL.

Oh yes, many of us are extremely passionate about our college football. That is why these threads don't play out well. Eventually someone will say that team A stinks, and then the fight will break out. So, please keep it civil guys, and if you like Team A, let it roll off your back. Thanks. (Yes, I will be watching college ball and rooting for some teams I usually would not cheer for... It is time for another team and conference to be #1)

Well as a HUGE Florida Gator's fan this year, to say the least, has been one big disappointment .. How in the heck do we lose to G.Southern ! :faint2: FL. State could very easily hang 60 + points on us I think .
Being an SEC snob we all know Alabama will win again . Maybe they will get knocked out but I doubt it..

The Oregon fan from last year is gone as well as the SEC bandwagon guy so it should be fine.

Hoping Michigan can beet Ohio State!

I have a feeling my Bruins are going to have a tough time with Southern Cal. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hoping Florida or Duke(probable for SEC title game) can knock of FSU. FSU has the easiest schedule of the top 3.

Alabama has to get by Auburn and probably Missouri.

Ohio State plays Michigan and then Michigan State for the Big10 championship. I hope OSU can win out because they are the Big10s only hope to be in the Big Game. My wife, however, hopes State knocks off OSU. Then State would go to the Rose Bowl... Besides, Michiganite's don't like OSU.

Ideally, I'd like to see 'Bama and OSU. I like 'Bama, but would have to pull for the Big10......

Hoping Nebraska can get it together and win over Iowa. The Washington St - Washington game should be good if the Pirate has his team ready.

LOL...since they don't play until tomorrow, you must have been looking at something else or last year's score?

Unsportsman-like call on Bo Pelini. I guess you can't swing your ball cap at an official's face.

Re: College Football Thread?

Bring it on, I sent 3 kids to The Ohio State University.

Brother (OSU) has been in Tampa for almost 40 years now, so his kids are Gators grads.
Florida vs FSU ..... and I have to back the Gators???? :croc:

OSU/team up north,...Florida/FSU, on at the same time Saturday. (looks like a split screen TV day)

Hey, sphelps...we love having Urban Meyer back in house.

angus63 ..... I've had some close ties over the years to Mount Union (1), John Carroll(11) over the years so I'll catch their games on TV/in person whenever I can. They have, St. Ignatius, St. Ed's, Mentor, Solon, Glenville, Canton McKinley, Massillon Washington ...HS to feed their programs, just outstanding local talent.

Re: College Football Thread?

hungupthespikes, it was great having Urban Meyer at UF . Great coach but I would have a much better respect for him as a person if he would have handled leaving us for OSU a little differently . Health reasons and to spend more time with the family ?? Give me a break ! I,m sure he has plenty of time for the family right now . Just give it to us strait ! Thank you UF for the opportunity to be your coach but I am leaving to coach at OSU my dream job .. Just be honest ! I could easily understand that and would have no problem with it what so ever . That,s just my take on it . Others may feel different .. :)

Appreciate the congrats, sam. I will accept on behalf of fellow Hawkeye fans. I have to admit that in spite of improvement shown in the last few weeks, I was not necessarily expecting a win today. I thought we could win, I just wasn't sure we would. Defense came up huge today. D has been our strongest side all season but they really cranked it up today. Good start to making this a real rivalry.

Earlier this year Coach Ferentz was asked how he liked having Nebraska as a featured rivalry. He said, " Well, I would like it to be a rivalry, but it's not really going to be a rivalry until we start winning a few."

I hear ya, aspeck.

A good game is being played on Fox at the time of this post. 3-3 with 4:59 left in the first half.

That was a well deserved win for Iowa. The Hawkeyes have been looking pretty good!

This is an example of being civil.
