I just bought a new boat with a mercruiser 4.3L 190hp carbed motor. It vibrates the boat really bad when first started, cold motor, for a few minutes until its warmed up. Is this normal? The salesman says it is but I am not sure. Please help.

Brand frik'n new, the thing is is that it completely stops after a few minutes. What could cause this? It was the first time it was in the water.

Check and see if the choke is working.

Brand new motors don't vibrate. Complain that you need it addressed, and get it on paper. New should be glass smooth.
My motor is 21 years old and it's smooth as glass.

Re: Cold motor vibration

Your right its a brand new boat go back and put your complaint in, you shouldn't have to check to what the problem is, that's covered in your warranty
