Coils/coil wires '86 Evinrude 50

Does it matter what coil wire goes to which cylinder? I know this sounds dumb, sorry. Just trying to solve my woes. What if I do mix them up. It's ten oclock at night so I would try it, but justthought I would ask. Reade my other posts for symptoms. Thanks.

If you cross the plug wires, you effectively throw the engine out of time and it will not run. With the electric starter, it will most likely fire out the exhaust with quite a loud explosion. Using a rope start, it will most likely tear your arm off or throw you over the transom.
