Was out the other day on my 2002 200hp Fitch when alarm/engine light came on 4 different times. Got home hooked up to comp and code 16, CPS might b the culprit . What do you think, and part number if you have it? Thanx for any help

Go to shop.evinrude.com to get the part #. Is the open air gap right on the cps ?? Or is it loose ??

Hey boogie, the sensor is real secure, doesn't even look like it moves. How is it adjustable ? What should gap be? Thanx for ur help.

Gap. .040 to .080 inches. It's supposed to be fixed.

U can't. It's just a spec the manual gives you to make sure nothing is loose or bent.

So I reset the code, ordered a new one along with the updated brace. I see rough water can shake the brace and cause the code. When I went out it was rough, heading in to calmer waters it didn't code. My question is should I go out this week, probably won't have new parts yet?

If it was my mtr, I'd try it and see what happens.
