OEM covers went out of stock 25 years ago. Since your pics show installed snaps, yes it did come with them.I am looking for cockpit covers for my newly acquired 1986 1950 Capri BR. Does anyone have OEM covers? Did the vessel come with them? Only paid $3 grand for vessel. Don't want to spend $1400 on new covers...Please advise
Honestly Scott I am new to this even at my age of 56. First Boat boat it from a Bayliner dealer in the Pocono mountains. Had it gone over before I bought it and had it service as well. I know what the transom is.....and now I know what the stringers are cause I just looked them up. LOL! I just took the boat out twice this week and it performed well I thought for its age. I have had some crazy prices for covers and everyone needs to make a living but not when the covers are a 3rd of what I paid for it. I will keep looking and thank you for your knowledge.your cheapest/fastest method will be to sew them yourself
your best method will be to contact your local canvas shop
did you check the transom and stringers of your 36 year old bayliner?
I have a full cover for it. Although I had to go to Lake Oneida NY to find a slip for it. Seeing the biggest lake closest to NY Lake Wallenpaupack PA has a 3 year waiting list. With that said its a storage cover and I dont want to just leave it in a slip 2 hours away with no protection of any kind. Founs a couple canvas makers up there willing to make cockpit covers for it. still at a cost of $1000. Time to pay the piper! LOL!!OEM covers went out of stock 25 years ago. If you find a canvas shop that will make them for you for $1400, jump on it if you truly need them because that's a good deal. The best option would be to store the boat in your garage, then you won't need them. Or, if you can't, optionally buy a full size cover to cover the whole boat for a few hundred.
I spent countless hours on Oneida Lake. Plenty of room to open her up & avoid the crazies. It's shallow so watch for a west wind that will kick things up. It can get hairy in a short time & trust me you don't want to be out there when it does. Good walleye & bass fishing, but not as good as it used to be thanks to zebra mussels. Enjoy your new boat & a spare prop with the tools needed is a must on Oneida.I have a full cover for it. Although I had to go to Lake Oneida NY to find a slip for it.
