Cobra vs Stringer??

Whats the difference between the OMC Cobra and OMC Stringer? I have an stringer 800 series...i've been looking at shop manuals to buy, but some of the titles look to be deceiving. What's the best manual brand? Seloc?

There is a huge difference between the 2 drives. Cobra uses ujoints and drive shaft with hydraulic tilt rams(similar to Mercruiser), 800 uses ball gears to connect the drive shafts, electric tilt motor just to name a couple. Personally the factory OMC manual is the best, can find them sometimes on eBay, after that either Clymer or Seloc both leave a lot to be desired(IMHO) but better than nothing.
