Hey everyone I am looking for anyone with info on a kona boat Capacity plate. I am rebuilding one and there was no plate. It is a 18 ft 1973 kona outboard. Any boat close would give me an idea. I want to add a livewell which adds 200 lbs or so filled plus the batteries for a trolling motor........ you get the idea. Hate to overload it.

If there was no plate it may have never had one. General rule:

Length in feet TIMES width at transom in feet = Horse Power
So if your boat is 18 ? and 6 feet wide, about 100 hp

If there is no capacity plate on a single hull boat under 20 feet, the maximum number of persons that can be safely carried in calm weather can be determined using the following formula: Length in feet TIMES width in feet at widest point divided by 15, so your 18 ? boat, if it was 6 feet wide, would be around 7 or 8 people. This assumes 150 lbs average weight.

Hope this helps, be safe.
