I decided to get fancy and ordered the CMC PT130 tilt trim unit to replace the factory tilt trim on a boat and motor I'm stripping and repairing. I can't figure out how to mount the motor to the CMC unit I must be missing something. Is the CMC unit compatible with this 1979 mercury I can't find any holes that line up at all. Or should I just stay with the original tilt trim unit and put a little money in to fixing it up and return the CMC unit. I have some pictures of how the motor was originally mounted.

If the OEM trim and tilt works. Why would you buy the CMC unit? It is of no advantage. Unless you are talking about a power jackplate.??
You are running a jet drive. the intake should be level with the bottom of the transom.

Those older Mercs had different bolt patterns. If you want to use the CMC, I would call them and ask about compatability.

Of course with the jet, trim is not important.
