Well the time has come. My old cmc hydrolic pump has bit the dust. I have read from a few different boards that it may be rebuildable. The hydrolic system is fine in the pump what has failed is the electronics. I pulled the lid off and the carbon brushes just basicalyl wore out so they no longer make contact with the armature. If I could just get the carbon brush kit with the plate that holds them in place it would be as good as new.. I believe its the pl 65 with the external pump. Its probably atleast 10 years old.

If not I guess I will find another pump that will fit the bill. I dont have the disposable funds right now to buy a new jackplate and I really dont want to spend 300-400 dollars for a new pump. I was told I could buy the bob's pump and get some hydrolic fittings and that would work. but thats 335 dollars as well

I allready contacted the US division of CMC and they no longer support / carry parts for that jackplate. Its probably over 10 years old.

I guess I can contact the Austrailian division to see if they may have something laying around.. Thanks for the link.

Robert,

The pump that you have has been discontinued for 12 years now and all of
the parts are obsolete. The only thing we can do is get you into a newer
jackplate.

Try an alternator or elctric shop, they may be able get it going, it is just an electric motor.

Worth a try

I took it to a shop that rebuilds electric motors.. They said its too far gone. The brush holder was cracked and the armature is missing copper..

For anybody that has this problem in the future be advised a mercruiser i/o pump will work if you rewire and find the currect hydraulic fittings.
