Good Day! I have a 1998 Yamaha 200 Saltwater 2, 2-stroke. I just purchased the Boat. I was told by the old owner that they were going along and the engine started to make a loud clunking noise. They immediately turned it off and was towed home. I was going to take the powerhead apart this week. They said it might be a rod that broke. The engine will not crank over at all, like it is seized up. What do you think it could be?
Model# S2001XHW. The engine has about 300 hours on it.

I really appreciate your help!
Thanks Jimmy

All you can do is take it apart and see if it's something that's worth repairing, like one piston/cylinder. Hopefully it may be something more simple/affordable, but that "clunking noise" doesn't sound too promising. Good luck and let us know what you find out.
