A friend of mine LOL,ok I did it.left the vent closed on a plastic 12 gal tank to the point that the motor caved the tank in slighty, could that damage the diaphrams in the fuel pump on an F90 carbed engine?leading to leakage into the crankcase?

Re: closed vent damage fuel pump?

any thing is possible, but I would think the age of the pump would have something to do with it.
I looked back one day at my 6 gal one on a C40TLRX 2 stroke and it was collapsed, I opened the vent and never had a problem so far, and it never missed a lick.
