clogged water inlets 4 hp

the inlet screens on my 4hp Johnson clog repeatedly, and i mean almost continuously with seaweed and such. Anybody have any good solutions? Model#J4REOD<br /><br />its about to the point that i have to sell the motor if i don't solve this problem. <br /><br />Pete

Peterpiper, I do not know of anything that can prevent this but you the driver. Check the inlet screen repeatedly. Good Luck.

Sometimes you can clear the weeds by putting the engine in reverse momentarily and revving it.
