well today i got the boat out for a little test run and it went very smooth. until i tried to get back on the trailer and got pushed sideways by the current. as i tried to reverse out, i clipped some rocks and took a nice quarter size chunk out of the prop (it was low tide here). i got the boat on the trailer the second attempt and checked out the prop. when i spin it it makes a click once for every rotation. i cant remeber if it did this before or not. did i just break a bearing in the outdrive, or is this normal? i removed the prop and spun the shaft, still the click. their is no play in the shaft, it is solid. no leaking fluids either. thanks in advance.

Re: clicking prop

You don't mention What drive we're talking about,
But, If it's a Merc. Alpha,
It Should Click 6 times per Rev., when turned as if freewheeling, In Gear.....
No Clicks in Neutral.......
1 Click per Rev., Sounds more like a Gear Tooth, that Isn't where it Belongs.........
You Might wan't to have it looked at.......
