Clicking no start when turning key

Just replaced old Battery terminal that was corroded, Just clicking sounds when turning the key. Charged Battery and still clicks will click when turning key, Than after about 4 or 5 times it will start. Besides replacing the Battery could the selenoid have anything to do with this? The contacts are rather rusty. This is a 4cyl 140 Mercruiser inboard outboard. Just got the boat and want to learn about it, and don't want to be stuck out in the waterway.

I am running into the same problem. Replaced the starter and all I get it a clicking sound when turning the key over. Checked the wiring with a test light and it all checks out. The battery is charged and I can raise and lower the motor so I know that there is power going to the unit. Checked the fuse and it checks out fine also. Any other thing's you might think I could check?
