Re: Click Click Click

Id bet on bad connections, as you just had them apart and now it doesnt work (this assumes that it worked b4).
recheck the terminals, cables, and all the connections.
clicks usually mean lack of current flow.

Re: Click Click Click

You are assuming that the new battery is good. Don't, check it with a meter WHILE someone else turns the key to see if the voltage immediately falls off..

'Click' is typical of a low battery and/or poor connection.

Have you SANDED all battery terminals, both ends, AND the short cable from the starter to the starter relay? Repeat the voltage test at the staarter relay, then again at the starter to see where the greatest voltage drop is. A battery cable can corrode inside the insulation, you may never see it, but your volt meter will show you if it has become a problem.

Not a Good idea can easily burn up the starter. Check the battery and make sure that it is good.

Re: Click Click Click

Maybe your starter solenoid is bad.
jump the big posts and see if the starter spins.

Re: Click Click Click

The majority of battery/starter problems that cause the 'click' condition are simply a poor contact at the battery terminal ends.

Disconnect the battery, then on the motor end disconnect, sand clean and retighten both battery cable ends, also the short cable from the starter motor to the starter relay.

Since you have a battery selector switch you also have TWO MORE battery cable ends on the back-side of that switch, sand them clean and retighten.

Sand clean the battery terminals, retighten, and retest both the starter and the trim system.

Repost what you have discovered.

Re: Click Click Click

Did you put the grease on BEFORE or AFTER the connections were tightened?

Please tell us AFTER.

Or you will be taking them ALL apart, re-cleaning them, tightening, THEN greasing the OUTSIDE of each connection.

Been there, done that, a VERY LONG time ago.

Re: Click Click Click

ok I have cleaned all conection and reconeted the, no joy
I switched the solinoids from one motor to the other, wich resulted in niether moor working. switched the solinoids back i regained myport motor and still click / no joy on my strbd motor.

what would happen if i jumped the termanals across + and - on the solinoid.
or i should ask what should happen.
