cleats useful on Waverunner?

I'm planning on buying a waverunner. Only the FX Cruiser High Output has the built-in pop up cleats. Does anyone use these regularly? Or do most people just tie up to the handlebars?

Otherwise the FX Cruiser has eveything I need so I would choose that one.

Any input on the cleats or any other considerations regarding Waverunners is much appreciated.

I never had them on my ski. It would be nice to tie to those rather than a handlebar.
