Clear Resivoir container on right side of engine?

I have a 2000 4.3L Mercuriser 4.3L w/ an Alpha 1 gen II outdrive.

It is on the top front right side when I face the engine/stern. You could also say it is on the port side of the boat.

I was wondering if it was a resivoir for the power steering?

Sounds like you are referring to the gear lube reservoir.

Gear oil, for the stern drive unit (the bit hanging on the outside of the boat) ....

Thank you, that was my other guess. Now I need to find the leak...
