Reading another post made me think of this, when i got my boat the people before had spilled a bunch of oil in the floor ski locker. I have scrubbed the locker clean but as water gets in there and runs under the gas tank it comes out in the bilge area as a nasty oily mess. Im assuming the only way to totally fix is to pull up the floor and pull the tank but just had to ask if anyone had any other ideas. Thanks

dump a bottle of dawn dish soap in the bilge... add 20 gallons or so of water and take it for a drive

I used an oil cleaner degreaser and a deck brush to scrub out the floor locker and even tho it rinsed thru it still does it, but ill give it a try.

dawn not some generic cheapy and the whole bottle... don't get stingy

you want to slosh everywhere the oil has been sloshed for quite a while.. up and down hills, curves, starts n stops... the longer the better... an hour to the lake, all day on the water, and an hour home and then put the nose in the air n pull the plug.

drain it and rinse thoroughly with a nozzle on the garden hose
