cleaning the bottom of the hull

I have read many postings on bottom cleaning, But i have yet to read of any one using a power washer. is this a good or bad idea? thanks ED:grumpy:

What are you trying to clean off? Power washers will do an ok job on some things, especially if you can catch it shortly after being pulled from the water. It will not easily replace the use of a chemical hull cleaner. (acid or otherwise)

So in other words, marine growth, yes, general scum and oxidation, not so much.

The Marina that we stayed at in Michigan power washed about 300/400 boats every year. It is a common practice.
