Hey Yall

My question was, I have a chalky look on the sides of the boat. I have tried polishing compound and rubbing compound. The rubbing compound seems to work a little, but I keep tearing the pads trying to get it off. Anyone have a remedy or suggestion I can use to get my boat looking like new again?...Or at least not chalky.

Hi. Regret there is no short cut or "snake oil" to remove the oxidation:( - use a fine rubbing compound and elbow grease ( or a power buffer !) and finish off with any good quality fiberglass polish.

If it's really bad you're best to wet sand. Get some 1500 +/- wet-dry and do a small area. Sand (not too much and keep it wet and consistent) then polish and wax. It's the quickest way to get rid of it. Find a sanding block to stop the finger marks and a buffer will greatly speed up the process..
