I have a 2004, 20 foot Suncruiser Malibu 200 and I am experiencing intermittent fuel starvation problems. I suspect there is dirt in the bottom filter/screen in the vertical gas suction line in the built in gas tank. How do I access this filter/screen? I assume I need to remove the 11/4 inch aluminium nut that holds this suction line? Help/advice would be appreciated.

One thing you don't wanna' do is loosen it with a torch.

When I was restoring my boat I wanted to take the fuel delivery tube out of my tank just to have a look at it even though the tank was clean as a whistle. I shoulda' left well enough alone, wound up breaking it off and had to extract it with an ez-out. In your case, yes, post some photos and the experts will be able to help.
