Cleaning a plastic gas tank

I have a spare Attwood 6 gallon plastic fuel container with all the connections for my motor that was originally on the project boat I am hopefully going to launch in the coming week. The tank had un-stabilized fuel in it that soured. I've emptied the old fuel out of the tank, and wanted to know what I have to do to the tank to make sure it is clean and has none of the old fuel residue in it. It would really stink to gum up the nice clean carbs on my motor because I didn't properly clean out the fuel tank.

Thanks

I've sprayed carb cleaner in my red plastic tanks, slosh it around, dump it out, check and do it again, if necessary. Lots of other solvents might work also. Good Luck!

I slosh a little fresh gas around in mine and then empty it out.
