Hey guys,
I have a 1988 50 hp force and I want to give it a good tune up. I want to take apart the carb and clean it. I also wanted to replace the spark plugs. I saw a forum that showed how to decarb a carb and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how or give me the link.
Thanks

Not to split hairs, but you don't decarb (decarbon) a carb (carburetor) you decarbon an engine and you clean and rebuild a carburetor.

Hmm...Yeah...I guess you are right. I did not read the post at all that well.

You can use Mercury's fuel conditioner to run through the carb, this might clean it up a bit.

Decarbing is for removing carbon deposits from the engine.

TMD
