I have a 15ft Lowe aluminum bass style boat. The "bilge" are was getting rather greasy and grungy, and the carpet was also rather dirty. I got the idea to take it to a "you-wash" type of car wash.
First I took everything out of the boat that would come out and then I towed it to the car wash. First thing I did was to use the vacuum to suck all the extra crap out of the bilge. Then I unhooked the hitch and propped it up so it would drain. (Don't forget to take some sort of wheel chock. I did and had to make do with the trailer hitch reciever.)
I had intended to use the engine and wheel cleaner on the outside and on the bilge, but it was not working. The regular high pressure soap worked well on the bilge and on the carpet. The inside of the boat looks great now, except for the steering console which looks like it has mold or mildew on it.
The only other thing is that you should remember that it will be all wet for a while. I had to let it set out overnight with out the cover on it.
