Classis 50 What is this part?

Hi guys,
Great source of info here.
Hope someone can help with this question
I got this motor from my uncle and don't know what this tube is.
See attached photos.
It does not show up in any the service manuals that I have looked at.I can't see anyplace it would connect on the top end,the tube goes into the lower unit.
It use to have a oil injection system,but that was removed some time agil is just added to gas now.
The pee stream is good and no problems with overheating.

It looks to me like the speedometer tube. Hooks to back of the speedometer so you don't have to buy one of those plastic pitot tubes.

Well that would make sense there is no speedometer in the boat.
Wonder why it wasn't in the service manual. Motor is on the orginal
boat.Maybe it was never connected and was just hanging there.
