classic merc motor help ?

ok thanks in advance to all who end up trying to help :
so I need help with identifying a couple older/ semi older mercs I have, cant find em through the serial numbers online, any help would be greatly appreciated....
I have a 4.5 hp merc, ser# 7081168, cant find
also a old mark 28 ser# 1180417, cant find either,
plus I'm sure its a 1963 65 hp 4 cyl, no serial number on name plate ( no plate), where else may one find the ser# number ?

The 4.5 HP Merc could be form Canada made in 1976...

4.5	1976	M	USA between 4377557 - 4597261	Canada 7072373 and up
4.5	1977	M	USA between 4597262 - 4869517	Canada 7091998 and up

On the Midas electronic part catalogue from Mercruiser they call it a 45, 4.5 (1Cyl) 7045758 THRU 7147237 (CAN)
Probably the reason you cant find it...

The 65 HP motor will have the serial number where the red box is above the magneto.
