I am having some idle issues with my 1985 merc classic 50. It seems to run perfect off of idle and rev perfectly fine. But it just wont idle. It runs too low and just stalls. I have checked for spark and made new ignition wires. New plugs. I have a feeling its a fuel issue? I did all new fuel lines, as i did find some air leaks in the old lines. Maybe the carbs are sucking air by the old gaskets? I set the floats to 1/4" and right now the mixture screws are out 1.5 turns and have tried different settings.

It might sound silly but, have you turned the idle screw up a little bit to make it idle just a bit faster

There is a screw on the bottom of the linkage on the side of the motor that advances the timing and opens the butterflies at the same time and i have thar screw maxed out at the moment to keep it idling

You have to be very careful when adjusting stuff on this motor.---Do you have a manual ?---Post a picture of the screw that is maxed out.
