I'm beginning to get into clamming but am having trouble finding them. So far, I see no reason for them being where they are. Is there something that I can look for to identify spots that would be good?

Re: Clamming

I have found that clams are where you find them. I look for smooth bars with a little mud on them that are either barely exposed or barely submerged at low tide. Then dig a little where you see holes in the sand. Very few of the holes will actually be clams, but if you find one, you will probably find several.

All of our clam beds up here are closed because of "red tide" :(
