Circulating pump problem 4.3 Mercruiser 1993

I have redone the cooling system with new manifolds , new thermostat , risers , ect , New in lower . New water pump , I cant get it to seal , flowing water all over the place !!
Can I have the wrong pump ? This is what I bought quicksilver . My old pump had 3 holes on left hand side , this just has 2 ???
Any Ideas I am ready to put old pump back on

is the timing cover plastic? You may have a pump for a tin cover and it wont seal with a plastic timing cover

According to my parts diagrams, you have a tin timing cover engines.
