circuit breaker for trolling motor?

i got a motorguide 24 volt trolling motor it has 5 speeds, works great in 1-4 but in 5th speed it will run a few seconds and quit? i got 2 small squre circuit breakers but only one is hooked up the batterys the hot wire is hooked up but the other breaker is not hooked up? is it my circuit breakes dont have enogh amps to pull it in 5th speed or what? or the breakers not hooked up right? how do i need to hook up the circuit breakers to the 24 volt batterys? hook both of them up or just 1 of them? need some help on what to do here? thanks!! :confused:

I have a 50a breaker on my pd55. What is your amperage?<br />Do you have a 24v circut breaker? Sounds like you have it hooked up right.<br /> You should have 6 guage wire to prevent over heating the wire. <br />Do you have a heavy enough wire?<br />My boat was wired with 10ga. <br />I switched it over to 6ga following Minnkotas recommendation.
