I have no clue when it comes to electrical components, my boat has a small circuit block on it, nothing is wired up to it. All I have is a switch for the bilge pump and a switch for the lights, is it better if they're wired to the circuit block? If so, is there a diagram showing how one is used? Thanks for all the help :D

Re: circuit box

If the current setup has an in-line fuse for each device there is no need to change it. If there are no fuses, then I'd advise that you wire it back up. Here is a link to a typical console wiring diagram. It has lots of stuff you probably don't have but you can just ignore that. You should not have difficulty with the concept.
