Cindy Sheehan and her husband divorced when the son was very young. She let her husband take the boy---she had no interest in raising him. She was more interested in promoting her communist cause. She has shamelessly capitalized on his death to do so, and that's why I think she's one of the most despicable people to ever have the limelight. The woman is an absolute fruitcake.
