I am looking at a 1987 21' Slickcraft that has a Volvo Engine and a Chrysler out drive.
Are these out drives reliable?
Is there still parts available for them?
Is there any thing I should be aware of?
Thank You.
Ken.
This is it.

It says, Chrysler marine on the plate that bolts to the boat?
Did Volvo make the out drives for Chrysler?

Chrysler did make drives briefly, but luckily the one pictured is a Volvo Penta drive.
That's a good design and a reliable drive when maintained properly.

That homemade trolling plate is cool.

That is a Volvo 270 or 275 outdrive. Not sure how Chrysler was involved exactly.

Chrysler Marine introduced an I/O in 1971 and sold the business to Bayliner in 1983. They did have a joint venture with Volvo at some point durning this period.
