Chrysler lower leg combatibility 1977 75hp and 1973 85 hp.

I have a 1973 chrysler 85hp and have just purchased a chrysler 1977 75 hp for parts.
I know that many of the parts are interchangable, just wondering whether the lower units are the same?
If anyone has any experience in this area, I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Right around 1977-78 Chrysler redesigned and made the one piece lower unit.

IF both lower units are two piece lowers--18 spline prop shaft with a thrust pin and a thread-on tailcone held by cotter pin-- Then even though they may look different, they will swap.
