Hey guys new here and I need a little help. I got this 6hp outboard 62HH for free and it needs a little work. I need to know where I can find parts, I need the plastic gear that spins and goes up when I try to start it. Also any ideas on how I can get my hands on a repair manual. Any info on this engine would be great.
Thanks

Re: Chrysler 62HH question.

You can get the part but you gotta know how to ask. You should be able to get it locally by asking your Mercury delaer for a recoil starter bendix gear for a 9,9 Force. I am almost 100 % certain the part is the same but just in case, bring your engine with you or be sure they have a refund policy on unused parts.

As for the repair manual, Dave "Hurrikain" Kain over t The Chrysler crew has a lot of literature.

Franz Buddenberg of franzmarine.com --also over at The Chrysler crew has literature also and most likely the part.

Re: Chrysler 62HH question.

If it is part 2 in the below illustration the mercury part number is 43-803624T and the cost is $9.41

Re: Chrysler 62HH question.

Check you Private Messages. I sent you one. If you order that part try ordering from your local merc dealer using the part number. If you order online shipping costs will be higher then the part.

Re: Chrysler 62HH question.

Thanks for the link you sent.:) Next set of questions are what should I do about the lower end, I have no idea when the last time it had ran, would the impeller go bad, do I need to tare it down? What parts will I need to replace? Should I remove the carb and clean it? also what oil/mix and ratio do I use?

Sorry for so many questions.
