I have just finished getting my Chrysler 9.9 hp outboard tuned up and running. It starts on the first or second pull. I am running it in a barrel of water. The problem is I get a lot blue smoke both when it first starts and after it has ran for awhile. I think I have the right fuel mixture 50:1 so I do not think that is the problem. What else might be wrong?

You need to run it at high speed in the water and the smoke will clear up.
Using a synthetic oil is supposed to help with the smoke. Also a lot more expensive.
Hook it to a boat and go for a good long run.
