Hi, I have a Chrysler 12.9 hp motor that has very low hours and is in like new condition still. The engine data tag says 122HD and 5170.
Does anyone know what year it is?? I believe it to be a '70 or '71.
Also it is giving me a little trouble at a low speed idle. The motor is cutting out and back in at idle. Anything above idle and under a load she runs great. I noticed giving it a tad bit of choke at idle prevents the problem so I assume it is a lean mixture problem, but not sure. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Chrysler 12.9 idle problem

There is a pilot air screw in the top front of the carb.Set one turn out from gently seated
then adjust with warm motor running in forward gear.Should solve your problem.

Great, I'll reset the pilot screw and retry her again. Thank you
