Might be a stupid question, but have you tried any CC owner's forums?

Re: chris craft amerosport NEEDS HELP!!!

yes i have........

Well, that having been established, proceed with your issues. You have a basically 22 year old 40' cruiser, so I know what she was wired for, what she needs...

What do you want to do, scope wise? Fix a few issues? Complete re-wire? AC side? DC side?

Equipped with...genset, water heater, batt charger, A/C, fridge, micro, stove, etc...

You're not going to find a manual, but, with patience and a few diagrams, maybe we can get you through this...

Where are you located?

Re: chris craft amerosport NEEDS HELP!!!

I am located in northern new york... the boat has everything you've listed it is complete as far as components(genset, batt charger,a/c x2, ect......what im trying to do is pick up where the previous owner left off...he was having the engines rebuilt and decided to redo the interior and dash while the boat was out of the water......then simply walked away from it half way through............. the 110 seems to be pretty straight forward and intact.... however the 12 volt is another story..... at the dash the panels have been removed along with the key switches and accessory switches, now there?s nothing there except the wires hanging.... I don?t have the original panels...or any clue as to what each wire leads to.....I think im going to have to purchase universal dash panels to replace the original unless by some miracle I can find the oem ones somewhere then try and figure out which wires are for which accessory (bildge,lights,ignition,ect).....and im not sure what way is the best to go about that.........second major issue is the wiring on the motors.....I installed two engines in the boat when I got it.... but now I?ve got just a ball of wires coming out of the firewall and I don?t know what wire is for what component of the engine.....tach...starter....oil....ect.... and some of the wires don?t have anything on the other end at the helm either(mostly just the ignition and accessory panels, the gauges are still hooked up)...........and I don?t really want to just hook up power because of all the wires just hanging loose all over the place......I did however tape off all the loose 110 volt and hooked it up to shore power and everything seems ok on that side(I think)..... I just don?t know where to start with the 12 volt..........also the interior ceiling lights won?t come on idk if that?s 12 or 110......also thanks for taking time to help me out!!!!!!!!!!

Mike,
go here to this site (thanks to the GREAT DonS) :) you can down load "the 12 volt doctors practical handbook " for the boats electrical system......................

http://www.motoren.ath.cx/menus/electrical.html

i thought it would come in handy and put it on a cd.

hope this helps

I bought the Clymer book and it has EVERYTHING you can imagine about my 88 Amero 250. From ele. to engine rebuild to wiring diagrams. Best $35 bucks I ever spent.
