Hello,

I have a 4500 Lb boat on a roller trailer. What Lb rating winch should I get?

Thanks

If you do the math you’ll find you need roughly 4,200+ pounds of pull.

Not going to get there with a hand winch without going to the gym a couple times a week

My boat is of similar weight and it just about stalls a 4,200 pound electric winch. Really struggles the last two feet

Manual winch ??? or electric ???

Roller trailers are easier to winch up than a bunk trailer (which can need a lot of pull) a 2,000 lb rating should be OK . . . the more the better (3,200 lb ?) and the winch should do a better job and last longer.

Consider trying a 2 speed winch, the “lower” gear ratio gives you a good deal more mechanical advantage.
