I have a Johnson 50 hp engine Iserial # 67043284 I have to use starting fluid to start it. The marina told me the choke solenoid was leaking when I push in the key. how hard is it to change it and what is the approximate cost of the part? thanks for any and all advise

A new one is big $$$-------But the repair parts are not.----Easy fix.----Yes the repair parts are listed and available.

It's very easy to work on. Repair kits are like 12 bucks. Just make sure the plunger is in correctly. I fought with one for a while one time before I figured out I had put the plunger in backwards.

The approach is to take it apart to see what you need.------Might just need the o-ring.--------???--------E-bay will not offer much technical help , but your local dealer can.
