Choice of PWC: Lots of Idling thru Canals

Hi,

I want to buy a new or almost new PWC.

Where I live would mean about two miles of idling/low speed operation through residential "canals" before reaching the harbor and then the open ocean.

It has seemed to me that a lot of skis don't take very kindly to that sort of running. They load up and fowl plugs.

A rental business near me seems to have that issue a lot. When his skis come back (SeaDoo GTi's...) he bumps them against the dock and runs them full throttle for a bit to clear them out; before the next rental.

That seems like a real nuisance, and an annoyance to the neighbors.

Any recommendations? I'd prefer a 4-stroke because I also plan to take it to Lake Tahoe which has very stricy restrictions on 2 stroke engines.

Thanks, Chuck

Go 4 stroke and go Yamaha. Stay away from Seadoodoo! I've ridden out of Marine stadium in L.B. and it's a 15-20 min. ride at no wake speed but never had any problems with my 95 and 96 Yamaha 2 strokes. I occassionaly goose the throttle slightly just in case it wants to load up. But 4 strokes are really much quieter than 2 strokes, and much better gas milage! My bud has an 05 Yamaha VX 110 4 Stroke and you can't even tell it's running!
