Yesterday, the ash from the Chile volcano arrived over New Zealand, and today it has moved north a bit to cover southern Australia.
Of course airports are closed and there is general disruption.
What seems amazing, is the ash/smoke has travelled 12,000km eastward, before getting to NZ.
If that is correct, that is a long way.
I think it even missed Africa (went south?)
Must have been one big bang, and I understand there is more coming.
Please, i don't want to inflame opinions, but I wonder if this is not far greater than anything us humans can put in to the atmosphere.
Cheers
Phillip
