Hours alone means nothing. An engine with proper care, run at reasonable rpm, and recommended preventive maintenance should see 3-5000 hours with no problem. An engine with 200 hours of always being run at max rpm, over propped, no maintenance unless it breaks, maybe change the oil once or twice in 10 years, it's probably shot now.
