My chest waders are the 3mm insulated neoprene, 'foam-style', not the rubber style and I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced dampness as if they leaked.

These are about 3 years old and have been stored hanging with the boots in the upright position.

If they have a leak, how do you find it??

Re: Chest Wader performance

how about putting the water hose inside them, folding them shut at the top, duct taping them to seal the water and build up a little pressure?

and then maybe sprinkin some talcum powder, flour, etc on the outside? would that show a leaky spot?

that is, if you've noticed water getting in after wading in streams. otherwise you might just be noticing condensation from the location they're stored in. you know, kinda like laying a plastic sheet over a hole in the ground to collect dew...
