i have a 2006,225 optimax with 155 hrs on it, i noticed about a week ago that i was getting short bursts of higher speed. i put in app 40 gallons of gas from my marina.
must say that this marina had some issues 2yrs ago with their quality.
was out driving across long island sound at app 15 knots when my engine starting losing revs. when trying to move i cant get out of the hole.
thinking it was bad gas , i went to another marina that sells valvetek gas. i put in app 30 more gallons along with injector cleaner,octane boost and startron.
took the boat out yesterday for a run. again the same problems exist.
i locked in the throttle at app 12-13 knots. app 3400 rpm.
i am experiencing variations in speed and revs. drops down to 3100 and on rare occasion i get full power to 4500 rpm for about a max of 30 seconds and it kicks back down again. in 1 hour driving time i got 3 shots at full power for a total of less than one minute.
my fuel filter looks ok. it has a clear cup on bottom that shows no water. in it.
i guess my question is - if its not the gas- what else can it be?
