How do you tell if your timing is right on? I adjusted the upper screw right under the flywheel thinking it was an idle adjustment and then saw the low adj screw. Not sure if I screwed the upper screw back in as it was set before. Will this effect the timing? thanks for any help.

Re: Checking timing on 1990 120hp force??

doing some research I see that it should read 28* while cranking with WOT. My question is.....if I have the plugs out can I do this with the plug wires just dangling? I worry about them sending spark and messing up a coil. thanks for any info.

to ground plugs i made a grounding device outta some plumbers tape[metal band with holes] and five two inch bolts. mount all five bolts to seperate holes in the tape, connect the four plug wires to each of the bolts and then take a wire to the fifth and ground securely to the block works good total cost about five bucks good luck don

If the motor is idling in neutral in a test tank what mark should I be hitting on the timing marks or should I be just between TDC and the first of the 3 marks which I believe is 28*? thanks
