Last week I went camping and took the boat along. I was going about 2 hours each way. I have a habit of watching my tires as I make turns. I noticed that my left fender had a black streak running down the middle of it.
I pulled into a gas station to inspect it. The front bolt holding the fender on lossened and fell off somewhere..........so the fender was resting on the tire for some time. I have no clue how long. Had the rear bolt failed the tire wouldve been spinning into the edge of the fender and I probably couldve caused some damage. I removed the fener and that was that.
I took tire off yesterday as I was going fishing today and wanted to put the fender back on with some better hardware. I inspected it closely and noticed the tread beginning to seperate from where I think maybe the backside of the fender was rubbing the tire. Put the spare on it and tossed the old tire.....................again got lucky.
