In my rebuilding adventures of this engine I am almost done, but one thing baffles me.
In the reed chambers there are 2 check valves with nylon balls inside. The manual tells me to remove and replace, because the nylon balls tend to melt when overheated.
I tried several suppliers and mercury repair places and the answer is always the same. They don't stock or use them because they are not in need of replacement.
What's the scoop here?
