check valve on 1983 mercury 60 hp 3 cyl fuel pump

~~I have an 1983 60 hp merc. I replaced the diaphragm and gaskets and also rebuilt the carbs. The engine acts like it is starving out and when you continue to pump the prime bulb it runs fine. filters good - lines new - new floats needles and seats - new diaphragm and gaskets. But when I look into the check valves - each of them has a pin hole in them - is there supposed to be a pin hole in each check valve?

No. You should buy a new check valve kit!
