Re: check this out!

ugh... that is ugly my friend.
that's not the new one you got from doug russell right???
Just curious, why are you dumping money in to an OMC.... and a 460 to boot?
have you been able to find and price out manifolds/risers for it yet??

Re: check this out!

Captjason, Well ya know how hindsight is 20/20? Well the story goes like this, 2 summers ago my exhaust manifolds rusted out and I didn't realize it (on the inside) Was able to recognize water could into cylinders. checked cylinders and didn't run until clear of water(one cylinder had water) I only had boat for 3 years. Motor running good along with out drive. So after My wake up call I could not get ex mans. I was able to get 460 to 454 adapters and new alum 454 ex mans and risers which worked out well, aligned right up with my Y pipes.(have an 1 1/2' higher rise which I don't think would be any issue). So anyway I spent some money to repair and STILL didn't get a clue some other RARE part could break. Uhhh like a coupler!!! After spending quit some time I found where I could get a coupler($600.00 gold plated) After this I pretty much checked what parts I could and could not get. I just had the Cobra out drive checked out and everything looks ok. I know by the time all said and done price of re power and new/rebuilt drive are going to be close,"I think". And last I really like how the 460 pushes my 26' it cruises well and at a nice RPM etc...I hopefully have the major hitters covered as parts go! Sorry for the long winded story! Paul
